ZHI LI-SHU (支離疏) is a fictional character in Zhuang Zhou's writing. He is a person with abnormal deformities. He waived the military recruitment due to his disability and lived a long life. His name was used as the Chinese title of this work.
The texts that are used in this work is from the Chinese bronze inscriptions in the San Family Plate. It was the treaty between two small countries in the western Zhou dynasty. These two countries had a war for the land. The invader failed and compensated with their lands.
This historical event was transformed into an interactive installation. After the visitors walk into the installation, the fragmented words will reform into a war treaty that moved with the visitors. After the visitors leave, the words will fall apart again. Human’s desire creates the chain reaction in the history.
