Story
Sealed in the obscure space is an unreachable story:
The sunset afterglow shined on the peak of Mt. Guanyin. There constructed Alluring Tower with myriads of windows and doors, ordered by the young emperor. Standing on such potent height, the pavilion housed half-revealing veranda windows, secluded rooms, intertwined passageways, jaded fences, and ruby eaves, all intricately weaved together, yet unobstructed.
Even the fairies would get lost if they had entered.
There sits the machine in the darkroom. Its perpetual turning gears gnaw into infinity. The last strand of sunset flows swiftly through the window mullions that were decorated by elaborately sculpted flowers. This imprisoned light in the labyrinth ran back and forth inexhaustibly, projected on paper windows, raised flower beds, secluded passageways, and the shadows glistened on lake water. Replayed over and over, flip and twist, and then mixed into the bronze mirror that reflected the murmuring sounds from the old imperial maid. In the end, everything scattered to the ground, unable to be recognized.

Sealed Moment
The object is sealed in transparent Lucite with a special sealing technique. The blocked object is comparable to the insects in amber, frozen in time. It could be an object excavated from ruins; a trapped organ, or a machine. Tracing the gear clutching and following their own imagination, viewers guess what the original functions of this sophisticated machine were.
The text of this project is inspired by the Tower of Maze, which was built by Emperor Yang(569~618 A.D) of the Sui Dynasty:
The tower is mythical. People visiting this place would be captured by its obscurity. Even fairies would be disoriented here.
I imagine that not only humankind or spirits get lost in this Tower of Maze; light also is trapped in this space and never finds its way out. Past images are infinitely reflected by mirrors in the empty corridors. Outside of the layers of thick glass, I often envisage what it is like being sealed in this space.
