The prestigious Spanish digital art event, LEV Digital Art Festival, recently concluded with great success at the Matadero Madrid Art District. This year, the festival showcased a special selection of works by four talented Taiwanese artists, featured in the "VORTEX" and "Pixel God: Taiwan Digital" sections. These exhibitions offered a glimpse into the future of cross-disciplinary digital art, while encouraging international audiences to reflect on the cultural and societal impacts of these creations.
One of the highlights was The Eye and I, an interactive VR work created in collaboration with French avant-garde electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre. Making its debut in Madrid, the piece explores the ethical concerns surrounding surveillance technologies within the broader context of our social and cultural narratives.
We extend heartfelt thanks to curators Nacho de la Vega and Cristina de Silva for their warm invitation and for organizing a special lecture, which provided a unique opportunity to share my creative vision and personal journey from the past decade. It was a privilege to discuss these ideas with curators from various international art and film festivals, as well as the general audience, as we collectively envision a new blueprint for the future of VR technology. I am excited to see VR continue to inspire our imaginations and contribute to the creation of a better future.
