"Samsara" won the best VR Project award at the Zagreb World Animation Film Festival 2022.
"Samsara" was chosen for the award by three judges (Eva Cvijanović, Milen Alempijević and Franziska Bruckner) among seven virtual reality works selected to be a part of the Zagreb World Animation Film Festival. This is a wonderful affirmation of our hard work.
In the award announcement, officials wrote, “This immersive journey through time and space took us to breathtaking parallel universes and expanded our consciousness, creating an exceptionally crafted experience."
The Zagreb Film Festival was established in 1972. It is currently the second oldest animation film festival in the world (after the Annecy Animation Film Festival in France), and is one of the four largest animation film festivals in the world. Many award-winning works from the festival in the past have gone on to be nominated for or win an Oscar.
It is worth noting that this historic film festival also included VR awards for the first time in 2021, which means that the fast-growing field of VR animation is now entering the mainstream field of animation art. For VR artists, the establishment of this award is significant and important encouragement.
