November 2011, I was invited by Enrico Stefanelli, curator of Lucca Foto Fest, to display my work in Lucca, a small town in Northern Italy.

The theme of the exhibition is "Looking East"; several Asian artists have been invited to present oriental atmosphere.

Although the original purpose was to attend the exhibition, I think it was rather like taking my change to visit this beautiful small town, experience traditional Italian life and go to the Venice Biennale.

The most inspiring experience was to see Italians display the most avant-garde art in spaces such as beautiful ancient cathedrals and abbeys. I can't help but wondering: will we have such a chance in the East?
