Focusing on Chinese painting master Chang Kuang Bin's work and new media artists' work inspired by master Chang, Chen Yung-Hsien curated this exhibition for Fengjia. I employed Chinese characters from the text “San Shih P'an”, imitated by master Chang, to create this human body which keeps falling apart.

Title： Zhi Li Shu

Zhi Li Shu is a character from Zhuang Zi.  He was said to be an exceptionally deformed person, thus he was able to avoid conscription from the army during wartime and complete his term of life.

Chinese characters used in this project are Chinese bronze inscriptions of cao zhuan from San Shih P'an. The text is about Ze State invading fields of San State in the Western Zhou period; the two negotiated peace, and Ze State ceded fields to compensate San State.

The incident of two states fighting over fertile land and leading to war has been turned into an interactive device. When visitors walk into the interactive device, shattered characters will recombine to restore the war contract from a thousand years ago.  But as people leave, the contract is torn into pieces again, showing the chain reaction triggered by people's desire.
